Active Interest Media Group Replaces Legacy FTP Solution and Streamlines File Transfer with RepliWeb-MFT

RepliWeb MFT has taken a huge administrative burden off our shoulders", says Director of Information Technology

Coconut Creek, FL. March 10th, 2009 - RepliWeb, a leader in application infrastructure software, today announced that Active Interest Media Group (AIM), a leading consumer enthusiast media-publishing company, has selected RepliWeb Managed File Transfer (RMFT) to streamline the distribution of advertising and editorial content between internal staff, external graphic and editorial freelancers, and other partners.

AIM publishes 13 market-leading magazines and websites, including Yoga Journal and Yachts International. AIM also produces market category-leading DVDs and books, and organizes a number of conferences, consumer shows, and seminars. In order to support these assets, AIM's internal staff exchanges hundreds of design files with freelancers and other external partners every month.

Managing FTP sites, provisioning new users and posting content for Active Interest's multitude of users consumed precious IT time. At the same time, frustrated end-users (graphic designers, authors and editors) often looked to AIM's helpdesk to address FTP client issues. These issues strained IT resources and created quantifiable losses in user productivity, prompting Active Interest's IT Management to look for alternative options.

To overcome the time and resource constraints of FTP, Active Interest selected RepliWeb Managed File Transfer (RMFT). Said Nelson Saenz, Director of IT at AIM; "RepliWeb-MFT saves our IT organization five to ten hours per week. Its Ad-Hoc user creation and AD integration make user provisioning easy because we no longer have to manage a second set of permissions. The Web UI is also much easier for our end users to operate, which has cut down our volume of support calls."

RMFT provides a number of additional benefits over legacy FTP. Packages can be set to expire at a certain date and time, eliminating the need to "clean out" cluttered FTP sites. Data security is also enhanced, as RMFT provides full encryption, authentication, and a comprehensive audit trail.

"File Transfer is gaining visibility as a major concern for companies that depend on data exchange", says Yossi Moriel, CEO at RepliWeb. "Active Interest Media Group experienced firsthand the improvements in speed, management, reliability in the transfer process, and the ability to incorporate confirmed transfer receipts that RepliWeb MFT delivers."
